Stereo Love On The Floor

Rounding up this week of sin--2 Restaurant Week reservations, Collegiate dinner, a birthday slash after-party and Lion King--it's really quite the opposite of what I should be doing.

I'm going to get punished!! Would love to update you with a review of everything, but it's pretty much impossible (or so I tell myself). I wonder if I'd be any good as a full-time blogger. You think? (:

Many, many things lined up in April (meaning: exams, interviews). Can you believe a quarter of the year has passed?? Meanwhile, I'm psyching myself up for my non-existent trip. Hahaha :D

Almost But Not Quite

Just a quick note before I retire for the night. My eyes are about to pop out of my head and my neck hurts--the result of trawling via laptop--but there's more to be dug out tomorrow. Not to mention, the painstaking prep after that.

I'm questioning again the meaning of all this. And I highly doubt anything will become of such valiant efforts. But I will be fair, and comply with requirements to a T. Mmm.

Missed out on lunches both yesterday and today, which I was rather excited about. Aye. At least I somehow managed a pocket of alone time to savour nature at its best this week (: beautiful weather and beautiful creations.

I give Praise again, and remind myself that all such things are trivial and I have much to be thankful for.

You Cannot Always Wait For The Perfect Time, Sometimes You Must Dare To Jump

Lately, life-wise it's been about taking gambles. Exceeding word limits, sending e-mails randomly, surprise gifts... I feel a bit trigger-happy because it's almost as if I have nothing to lose, which is not exactly true. Pushing the boundaries is not always the wisest thing to do, and considering everything that's at stake with respect to the former--which is, precisely, everything.... well, sort of--I probably shouldn't have. But what's done is done.

Doing things for others has been extremely therapeutic. I've taken to drafting long e-mails in the dead of night, paying a little more attention to my playlist and dreaming up the assembly of delightful little hampers. Good on me if they are realised, but it's just as well I didn't promise anything. Keeps it stress-free (:

Sartorially, I've been a little more conservative. Returned to my neglected black blazer for nifty little dinner appointments (Restaurant Week!) and pared down silhouettes and colours (blaaaaaaack). Love how a black blazer really pulls an outfit together. And mine was a cheapie version from G2000! Contemplating investing in a slightly better piece that's vaguely more tuxedo like. None of that cheaty feminised crap for me. (For some time now, I've been craving a men's jacket with a breast pocket and ..... some other item I forgot -_- all these fashion ideas floating in my head but nary a moment to scribble them down and they're gone in a flash.)

Definitely working at reducing that cost-per-wear with my black suede Mango satchel. Clutch, handbag, shoulder, cross-body.. done them all. Good size, too. Fits all my school stuff: laptop charger, pencil case, B5 notebook(s), 500ml water bottle, on top of the usual; but also holds minimal items without being too slouchy and having everything fall out. Which is great since I'm too lazy to change bags all the time--this one works with/for everything. Haha.

Sometimes, basics and bravery are all you need (:

Keep It Simple

Distichiasis

To update my CanMake mascara review, I've developed a rapid sweep technique with the brush for a very light and even coat. It doesn't clump at all now. I swipe all lashes very quickly using the round side first for a wee bit of volume, then the straight side from midway to the tips to achieve separation. No lingering or zig-zagging at the base! Really takes all of 3 seconds each eye (: it works better and dries faster too, but I haven't been using it much because I've been lazy. (Even skipping curling... yes, that lazy.)

RIP Elizabeth Taylor. So beautiful, she was. All thanks to her famous double lashes, I discovered that I have a mild form of it (; who knew!?

Slow

Umm, is it horrible that I missed out on Forever21's 100% for Japan? \: I wanted to buy a bunch of stuff but took too long deciding. (What's new?) Damn, where's that daylight saving when you need it?? Daylight losing instead! I hope you've all done your part, whichever way!

Struggling to get through my paper, then it'll be a relentless week.

Get It Right

Finally got myself Volume 5 of the Glee Cast music, which came out last Tuesday. Quite pleased with the tracklist because it has so many of the emo songs I like. Did I mention Gwyneth Paltrow is so awesome in her second appearance on Glee? Muuuuuch better this time, and of course, her (autotuned?) singing is great! Buuuuuut, (why yes, of course, a big but. Don't you like them? I do.... HAHAHA) Spoiler Alert! Highlight to read: I don't like that she and Shue have a thing ):

Slowly making the teensiest of headway through my assignment, which I almost forgot about, but I have absolutely no idea if I can/will make the deadline. Guess not. Haha.

There's been a blur between blogging and correspondence for me. Well, mostly because this is a channel for me to recount the goings-on in my so-called "life" (booooring) which will be carelessly perused scrutinised by you (presumably people I know.......). To my mind, personal e-mails and blog entries equate to more or less the same thing. Is that strange? Anyway, I realised to my surprise that I haven't actually written that much here recently. Hahaha.

Anyway, I indulged in a bout of online shopping according to plan. Finally overloaded on Dolce Vita x Target (3 pairs !!! but totalling about SGD 50)and picked up a couple other items for my brother along the way (free shipping!). Ended up not getting any of the re-launch dresses on the GO International initiative, which turns out to have been the smart move. Looks like my plan is on track (; savin' moneh hohoho :D that's an all-the-way-to-the-bank laugh.

Meanwhile, this is fuelling my obsession with Norma Kamali x Walmart. Pity my hesitance meant that everything I wanted has sold out. Urgh. But too chic! And that sleeping bag puffer. Ergh. Shall stop thinking about it.

The urge to clear my closet keeps surfacing, but I can't just yet. But I already have a pretty darn clear idea of what has to go.

Been catching up on random trivia in between.......whatever is it I'm doing, which includes the UCLA girl (Alexandra Wallace), some responses (David So), crazy talented little kids (Sungha Jung, Maria Aragon), not so talented little kids (Madison), idiotic not-so-little kids (like this one) YouTube comments, snippets of news (Japan, inter alia)... And it's a sad state of affairs all around. I don't know why I find it all so depressing--perhaps because I'm so cynical--but it soothed me to watch documentaries tonight.

I think I shall retire now. Good night, cruel world!
