Pucker Up

Yesterday: stood in a bookstore and devoured the entire Coraline in an hour or so (after perusing National Geographic and Vogue and several other magazines). Went for facial only to discover that our guy wasn't in - damn I should've called to check instead of being so lazy - then proceeded to hunt for a dinner place. Kicked my brother awake when it was our stop on the train... so tempted to leave him there -.-

Apologies for the background shadows. I always use rough paper to doodle.

Today: made my way to the other end of the island and back for durians and a lousy Uniqlo. The durians weren't a let down, but the Uniqlo certainly was.

    Durians: 2 types including the pale yellow flesh variety and the vivid yellow creamy variety. The former, very tasty and what some might consider slightly bitter; while the latter, sweet as hell to the point of dense intense ice cream. Chilled creamy fruit = great for the oven-like weather today. Not crazy about durians, but they certainly taste good once in a while.

    Uniqlo: lack of imagination in the clothes and styling of mannequins. The store was poorly organised and it was difficult to find things or be drawn to anything at all. Additionally, I saw stuff at exorbitant prices (some of the things were on sale in Hong Kong... there was a top I liked which was about 20 SGD on sale, but going for 50 SGD here). Further, there was very limited stock/designs but that was already expected. I hope the Ion Orchard one is better. It opens in mid August!

Ion Orchard opens 21st July 2009. I'm marking that date down, although not all the shops will be open for business. However, I really don't think I can shop in Singapore anymore. On a side note, there's a possible trip to the US newly slated for December/January. Really excited! :D

Oh, and that lovely Esprit white blazer that I liked in Hong Kong? Nowhere to be found. Ridiculous, considering it's such a basic item. I've checked out several Esprits in the span of a week.

Received several presents which totally make me feel loved and pretty! Lipsmackers YUM YUM WATERMELON in 3 different forms, no less; and a black Banana Republic butterfly sleeve top, at which both parents chorused "Niiiice" to my "Nice? [flaps arms twirls]".

Thanks, babes! More to come: the old Body Shop raspberry lipgloss. MMM. I really ought to begin wearing some gloss instead of plain old Vaseline. Don't we love handmedowns/passarounds? Swopping clothes with girlfriends = win. Won't ever need a sister (;
