Lately, life-wise it's been about taking gambles. Exceeding word limits, sending e-mails randomly, surprise gifts... I feel a bit trigger-happy because it's almost as if I have nothing to lose, which is not exactly true. Pushing the boundaries is not always the wisest thing to do, and considering everything that's at stake with respect to the former--which is, precisely, everything.... well, sort of--I probably shouldn't have. But what's done is done.
Doing things for others has been extremely therapeutic. I've taken to drafting long e-mails in the dead of night, paying a little more attention to my playlist and dreaming up the assembly of delightful little hampers. Good on me if they are realised, but it's just as well I didn't promise anything. Keeps it stress-free (:
Sartorially, I've been a little more conservative. Returned to my neglected black blazer for nifty little dinner appointments (Restaurant Week!) and pared down silhouettes and colours (blaaaaaaack). Love how a black blazer really pulls an outfit together. And mine was a cheapie version from G2000! Contemplating investing in a slightly better piece that's vaguely more tuxedo like. None of that cheaty feminised crap for me. (For some time now, I've been craving a men's jacket with a breast pocket and ..... some other item I forgot -_- all these fashion ideas floating in my head but nary a moment to scribble them down and they're gone in a flash.)
Definitely working at reducing that cost-per-wear with my black suede Mango satchel. Clutch, handbag, shoulder, cross-body.. done them all. Good size, too. Fits all my school stuff: laptop charger, pencil case, B5 notebook(s), 500ml water bottle, on top of the usual; but also holds minimal items without being too slouchy and having everything fall out. Which is great since I'm too lazy to change bags all the time--this one works with/for everything. Haha.
Sometimes, basics and bravery are all you need (:
