The weekend in review:
-Ong's Obiang 21st on (Good) Friday;
-CATS on Saturday;
-nothing on (Easter) Sunday; and
-an assignment due on (Black) Monday
The party was, dare I say it... A success! Thanks to Yu for helping plan and emceeing while I was on photographer duty. I think the highlight of the night was the pinata. Heehee. My awesome idea of getting a rainbow pinata—so that he would keep batting through the center instead of whacking anything—was well-received. The night was nothing less than eventful, the costumes nothing less than gaudy. Thankfully we bought accessories to preempt unenthusiasm—giant sequined bows, anyone? Love, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did organising it for you! (If you're reading this.)
CATS was goooood. So much so that I feel like watching it again. I thought I had bought the most expensive yet shittiest seats in the house, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. There were cats dancing around us and frequently interacting with the audience (me!) so I was glad to be sitting at the side, along the aisle and close to the stage. I am so happy to finally be able to watch it, I've been wanting to watch it for the longest time. The last time CATS was here, I was quite little and Mother didn't think to watch it.
My favourite cat was Mr. Mistoffelees purely by virtue of his dancing. Adrian Ricks was great on stage! I liked him because he was very into his character as a Jellicle Cat, wearing animated expressions every second. Also, he was so supple and graceful yet strong in movement. Mother enjoyed herself immensely too. Her favourite was the saucy Rum Tum Tugger, the Elvis of the Jellicle Cats, portrayed by John O'Hara. She said he had a good voice. Sure ;) in actual fact, the cast of CATS seems to be fairly accomplished/experienced. Oh how I wish I could perform in CATS too, one day. It seems like so much fun! Bum-wiggling, tail-shaking, impudent (in a good way) fun! I miss dancing... Feel kind of like Grizabella (the Glamour Cat) singing Memory—the famous CATS song.
Today is just a day to relax, the weather is purrfect for sleeping. Exams loom around the corner, waiting to pounce upon me whilst I am still unawares.
A yawn and a stretch,
xoxo
P.S. I'm having random chocolate bunny cravings. How queer since I don't celebrate??
