Today was major shopping day!

First stop, SISTIC: to buy tickets for Journey to the West performed by the Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe. Found a Cantonese opera, The Lioness Roars, so Mom and I bought tickets for that too.

Then after grabbing a quick lunch at the 3rd floor foodcourt (terrible food at terrible prices) we headed over to Robinson's to check if I could get my card replaced. It turns out that I was right! Mother didn't even get me a card in the first place -.- so silly. Anyway, so she said she'll apply for a supplementary card for me... or something. Woohoo, Milani! :D

Next stop, River Islandddd. Most things were waaaay too big. I didn't really find anything I liked except this cutest violet flower bikini but it was totally unjustly priced. Unfortunately, the website's totally flash so I can't link you anywhere or put up a decent picture.

After that, we stopped by St@ge, Aigner, Coach... Robinson's bag department... Well, yeah. You can tell we were not distracted at all. So much for going to work early! Tried on crazy high Steve Madden platform sandals at St@ge. Was attracted by the velcro but they weren't comfortable and didn't fit well. Not a spectacular design either, but really quite affordable at about SGD 110 after discount? Aigner had gorgeous but out-of-budget bags. And this really cool silver long wallet. Nice (y) Coach had a beautiful long yellow leather wallet (SGD 505, ouch). Felt really good in hand. Had to stop ourselves from going into the Bally due to time constraints but somehow managed to find ourselves in Robinson's. Cheap-ish leather bags that I quite liked, but somehow didn't think worth their price tags. But yes, bags galore. I was quite tempted by Stella Stella, Renoma and some other brand I've forgotten, but decided to hold out for something better (:

Susequently, we had to make a quick escape to Raffles Place otherwise we'd never escape the clutches of Raffles City's shopping. But not without a last detour to Her Glass Slipper at Chevron House on the pretext of checking out the bags there. I honestly wasn't intending to buy any shoes but I succumbed and ended up with 3. And it could've been more if I weren't so principled and stubborn. Bought 2 pairs of court shoes for myself of varying heights (1 mid and 1 high) so that I wouldn't have to borrow Mom's anymore. I had previously been to the shop when there was a private sale a couple of weeks ago but didn't find anything that caught my eye. The fact that the shop was really quite crowded during a rather short lunchtime might have been a major contributing factor. It's really quite a turn off.

With all the time and space (and attention) in the world I could find shoes that I really loved. The first pair of shoes I tried was this extremely gorgeous plain black Fabio Rusconi snake leather maybe 3.5 inch? pumps (SGD 389, 20% off) was extremely tempting but for the fact that I could see my toe cleavage. Eww. But the shoe itself was so elegant, especially its heel and side profile. Nothing architectural or out of this world, but the shape and lines were so clean and perfect. Then, I was immediately drawn to this pair of iridescent pink-purple sparkly Fabio Rusconi flats. Just knew I had to have it (SGD 229, 50% off). Next I tried on this pair of Her Glass Slipper (in-house design, made in Spain) black 3 inch? pumps with high back and detail (SGD 329, 20% off). Wasn't particularly pleased with it but it was admittedly not bad. Decided to hunt around some more and picked an Enric Navarro 1.5 inch? heels, also black but this time with a very simple creased texture at the front half of the toe box (SGD 289, 30%). Settled for this pair of court shoes when the salesgirl informed me that if I got a third item, I'd get an additional 10% off. I fell for it! : so I walked around some more, and hunted down this pair of... I forget the brand (SGD 329, 40%? Can't really remember anything because I guess it was sadly never really in contention). It was a beautiful sandal: suede straps, one across the toes and a pair criss-crossing over the arch of the foot round the back where it went through the loop attached to a substantial back for heel support. A fairly big bow along the side near the ankle completed the young look, making it so perfect for dinner parties or a simple girly outfit. I was in love! But, major pet peeve = elasticcccc. Bane of my life, argh! But it fit really snugly such that I walked around and around the shop in it. Haha. The salesgirl must have thought I was really silly/weird. Tried on several more pairs of shoes while trying to decide, and Mother tried to convince me to buy them. She thought they were really sweet. But in the end, I picked up the Her Glass Slipper pumps. Bummer. But still alright. In the end, I rang up a huge bill but I guess it's worth it. Really comfortable shoes! I can run in them, no kidding. Yeah, yeah, I know. Me, the klutz, running in heels?!

Anyway, I've neglected to mention that my triple-strap Fabio Rusconi heeled ankle boots were on sale too. SGD 489, 40% off = MAJORLY OUCH FOR ME. I cringe everytime I see them. Have been trying to console myself that the number of wears and the amount of time I've had with them that made me that bit more fashion forward was worth the extra money forked out... and that they might be out of size (not true)... but it's not really working. Ah, well. Guess I should've been more patient. But this "holding out" strategy doesn't usually work well, I would know. I'm the queen of thinking over non-purchases.

In a bizarre coincidence, the same salesgirl served me again today and has induced me to spend close to a thousand bucks to date. Coincidentally, it was also a Saturday when I bought my boots. Oh man. I shall stay away! AWAY!

I adore Fabio Rusconi to bits, and you can check it out online here. There are ballet-inspired shoes on the site. I LIKE. Very beautiful shoes for both men and women. The designs are definitely my thang.

Sports is so depressing these days. Why ain't anyone I like winning!!! Currently munching on some kiddy colourful icing biscuits. Yum.
