Sunny

Didn't go swimming in the end because it was quite a squeeze between then and dinner.. Ended up sitting on the floor, cutting up my jean shorts some more because I didn't like the length on them the last time. It's much more comfortable and a lot less awkward now, but I'm still feeling slightly irked by the frayed hem.... Hahaha. Oh well. Enough modifications for now.

I feel like doing something outdoorsy today--the weather looks quite inviting--but then the afternoon's plans aren't dictated by me. Maybe next week with my girlfriends. The Southern Ridges look quite fun--a whole series of bridges connecting parks--with a bit of history thrown in.

Between buying movie tickets and the showtime the other day, I managed to visit Sunny Bookshop at their new premises in Plaza Singapura. The store is very tiny, and the book selection really isn't what it used to be. There is still quite a sizeable fantasy section, but there are comparable sections devoted to trashy Chinese books and chick lit. The classics section is tiny and split up, but that might be because they're still unpacking stuff. Books were on the floor and shelves were empty when I went. Didn't manage to get my hands on a Penguin Classic version of Lolita--a very fascinating book which I enjoyed very much. Brother found it perverted and extremely disgusting. This is one of the rare books which we disagree on. Haha.

The fish soup at Plaza Singapura's food court is not good anymore. I have to stop eating there \:

Now I shall heading out for a lunch appointment to get bak kut teh or noodles at one of the random coffeeshops at Binjai Park, near Ivins, and then it's flexible in the afternoon. Swimming would be good, but having said that, the weather surely won't hold out. Hahaha. Guess I shall bum around today.
