Everytime You Go Away

Headed to Greenwood Fish Market and Bistro with Brother for Oyster Tuesdays ($1/oyster with 1 main course per person, woot!) and got stuffed! He had: lobster bisque and crabmeat vongole (spaghetti changed to) linguini. I had: seafood chowder and squid ink linguini. Between us, we also had: complimentary (hot!) bread rolls, Cherrystone clams (off-the-menu starter, freshly arrived today) and 18 oysters (only an assortment for the promotion; you don't get to select, but they have 7 types of oysters). Omnomnom. Needless to say, it was expensive (I didn't peek at the bill) but so goooood. All the portions were generous, including the pastas. The seafood chowder was so delicious!!! I normally hate chowders, but this was omg beyond incredible. All the vegetables were cooked so soft but not mushy-powdery. There was a lot of seafood in it--a few clams, a whole meaty prawn, a couple of mussels. Super satisfying. Brother's lobster bisque looked much less generous in comparison, but he said it tasted good (: then came the Cherrystones.. I think they were cooked with Garlic and olive oil and wine?? No clue, I just know there's definitely garlic and it's cooked really simply. These were good, too. So fresh and sweet! Then the oysters. MMMM. So fresh, tastes of the sea, and so meaty! Brother's pasta came with quite a lot of crabmeat and white clams--he finished every last bit so I'm assuming it wasn't bad (: although, he grumbled unangrily that he had two unopened clams. Haha. My squid ink pasta (I don't think I looked like a horror eating it) was superb! I could taste the subtle taste of the ink, but then it also had the garlic/oil flavour. It wasn't too salty, but just right (: it had a big chunk of unagi on top, cooked to perfection--not too sweet, but well-flavoured and soft but not slimy--and plenty of squid :D~ very generous with their serving of pasta as well. I liked that there were squid strands/slices blended in with the pasta so that with every mouthful I got a good chewy texture from both pasta and slight crunch from the squid. Nothing was overcooked (: couldn't ask for more. Service was quite delightful, too (: decided to skip out on dessert today. That's how satisfied I was. Sheer bliss, I tell you! Pity the lobster tofu wasn't available. I wanted to try that \:

I finished the bottled bird's nest with ginseng from I don't know where--not nice, ew--and now it's time to sleep. I must try to make it for 9am class tomorrow... regulate my sleep cycle!
