ANYWAY, more fooooood. Been meaning to post this for a while, but never got a picture--and was too lazy to hunt for it online. New discovery while shopping at the petrol kiosk--one of my more "auntie" hobbies, together with grocery shopping--that's got everyone hooked :D
Meiji Copan!!! OMG so addictive. None of us could stop popping it once we started. The chilli flavour tasted super prawny and was satisfyingly spicy. It only got better as you continued to pop more. Even people who didn't like prawns loved it. The garlic toast was also good--sometimes with these products you get only one good flavour--and even that idiot Brother who claims he does not snack just had to buy them after popping one. Hehe. The best thing about these is how they really look like little baguette slices and have textures like the real deal, just less hard. They're more like...... bruschetta without toppings? I bought them a while back, for sustenance while doing props/sets for the musical (: they cost SGD 1.95 each, then, which is pretty cheap for a Meiji product. However, it's made in Thailand, but that does not affect the quality one bit. The second time round, they were on offer for 2 for SGD 2.95--SO CHEAP. And the petrol kiosk I originally went to had run out of garlic. Brother insisted on popping by another kiosk on the way home just to pick up his garlic.
Anyway, because the first stop didn't have any garlic, I found a substitute--Tao Kae Noi's Want More. This is also a mini bread snack concept, also baked and not fried (feels a little less sinful that way). If you're thinking that the brand sounds familiar, it's everyone's favourite spicy seaweed snack in resealable bags from Thailand (: anyway, this version comes in garlic and soft butter. It costs SGD 1.75 per packet, so it's in between the promo and original price of the Meiji. (Oh, the mama shop downstairs carries it, too. It costs SGD 1.60!)
I haven't tried it yet, but I'll let you know once I do (: you can head down to a Cheers if you can't wait, though I'm sure NTUC probably carries them too.
OMG I just googled Meiji Copan and I see that they have butter salt, tuna & onion and maple sugar flavours. DROOOOOL. Really like bruschetta! And there's a ham & cheese!? Kill me now, please. This is why I must live in Japan. Hehehehe. At least if I die, I'd be in heaven first before going to hell. Teehee.
MEIJI = RABURABU ^_^
