Can Make Time

Last Thursday was the Watsons Anniversary Sale. I met a girlfriend for Broasters at Nex (yes, again)--plans for Shabu Sushi were foiled--and then by coincidence we both ended up heading for the members' only sale. Hahaha.

Broasters was good, as usual. The chicken is definitely a hit with all my friends and I. However, I had already taken lunch at home and didn't want to overeat, so I only ordered a cheese fries for SGD 2.90. It turned out to be surprisingly large, so it was a blessing in disguise that the chocolate eclairs (also SGD 2.90, I think) were sold out. Hahaha -.- they were quite stingy with the cheese, which wasn't heavy enough--not like the usual nachos cheese at say, KFC.

The sale was to start at 1630h, they were closed before that at 1400h, but started letting people in early at about 1620h, I'd venture. We breezed in punctually, with no queue, and the store filled up quickly after us. Upon entry, you need to show your card, then they deftly hand you brochures and bag with a bottle of water (apparently you can get more bottles in store for free). Pretty impressive welfare (: I had quite the huge haul from Watsons consisting of stuff for my brother, snacks for myself and other random things not on sale -.-" picked up a tube of mascara (yes, yet another one)--CANMAKE's gokunobi mascara, SGD 23.90--but only because (1) it was one-for-one, i.e. half-price, and my friend wanted one; (2) she recommended Japanese mascaras and I'd never tried them before (I swear by US mascaras); and (3) lazy me wanted something that would wash off with warm water, since I have to use eye-makeup remover with all my current waterproof ones. Actually, I had wanted to get some new cosmetics to try e.g. foundation and milk lotion type Japanese-style sunscreen, as well as small items like an eyelash comb and brow grooming tools, but the crowds were too insane and I got tired. But we still got waylaid some 1.5 hours inside that tiny store =.= of course, the queue to pay was mad. And once you pay, you would have had to queue to get back in because it was uni-directional straight from the cashier to the redemption counter and then out the back entrance. Apparently, my friend's eager mother dragged her back for round 2 after dinner. Hahahaha.

After trawling through everything, we headed to Drink Tea where I introduced her to the wonders of its Roselle pearls. Heehee. I myself had an almond milk tea with pearls and milk custard and zero sugar. Yum. The almond's an acquired taste and a little powdery, but not bad. Strawberry milk tea is a lot smoother in terms of taste. I had it on the previous visit, but if you ask for zero sugar, expect it to be quite bland because they'll put less strawberry syrup. Next time I'll try the caramel--was sorely tempted to that day, since I've been having a burnt sugar craving. I think I'm really addicted to it--that's already twice in consecutive visits that I've splurged SGD 4.80 on bubble tea. Terrible! And I usually don't queue for long. Oh no ):

Anyway, I had a really good time hanging out--worth the guilt from skipping studying. Conversation flowed easily, jumping from topic to topic, and I really appreciated how different and open she is from my other friends. Hopefully, we'll be travelling together sometime this year (:

Skipped out on ballet that evening after Nex because my other friend was stuck in school. No loss, since I used the time this week to flip through my readings.

Okie, that's all for today.. (:

Kisu!
