Spring Shoes '09

Hello hello, feeling lazy today. Spent it investigating shoe trends for spring. My take: clean, simple and basic.

The shoes come in a variety of designs, but few are OTT. Designers churned out strappy sandals and updated basic pumps. The lines aren't anything fancy; the colours are fairly safe. What I liked though, was colour blocking and bright colours (my favourite spring colour = yellow) which popped and brightened up otherwise bland-ish outfits. Also a big feature, was textured leather like python and croc. With regard to detail, there were bows on everything including shoes.

Of course, this season's it shoes that everyone probably already heard about eons ago:

Ann Demeulemeester Lace-Up Sandals
Yves Saint Laurent Cage Shoes
Dries Van Noten Bracelet Shoes
Louis Vuitton Spicey Shoes

My personal favourites?

Fendi Stiletto Wedges: the only wedges I would ever wear, ironically, only because they don't look like wedges. But they are nonetheless very beautiful, classy and smart, so I'd love them all the same if they were stilettos. Ahh, I want to own them ):

Oscar de la Renta had plain high-heeled sandals that might border on boring, but look comfortable and timeless. Loved the yellow and red suede that are sooo Ferrari :D I also liked his X pumps (which remind me of JPG FW09 X boots). They simply exude effortless sophistication and distinction.

Viktor & Rolf had this pair of psychedelic monochrome lace-up platform sandals. Really amazing! I think Viktor & Rolf deserves their own special post. Will research when I'm free, probably after exams.

I'll try to do a bag post for Spring too (: I think I'm a bagaholic...

Yours Faithfully,
