Draped A Winner

Photo from here.

I had a really brilliant title but now I've forgotten what it was. These amnesiacal attacks are rather alarming. Should eat more Gingko Biloba or something.

Anyhoo, interning is fun in the bimbotic sense that I get to dress nicely everyday for a change.

The first day was a boring court-worthy outfit: white long-sleeved collared shirt (Bossini) tucked out with black pants (Dorothy Perkins) and non-court worthy black strappy low-heeled sandals (Foxtrot) but nobody really bothers... Slung a black blazer (G2000) on my arm to put in the office for court days which has this really great black-on-black stripey texture. I used a boring black Tod's bag which was a gift to my mother.

Yesterday, I wore a knee length black dress from MNG Suit in secretary-style and black mid-heeled pumps (Etienne Aigner). It has a ruffled cap sleeves and a narrow vertical eyelet at the chest which is adorned with dark coloured chunky gems. I was too lazy to bring any outerwear so I froze all day, but then again nobody else was cold without a jacket so I think I'm falling ill. Transferred all my stuff out of that boring tote into my favourite tan vintage bag (??? no brand).

Today I'm wearing something funky: my new yellow short-sleeved shirt tucked out (Dorothy Perkins) and paired with black pants (Marks & Spencers) and my mom's vintage black and white checked blazer (New Line). Completed the look with Mother's black flats with bow (Antonio Muzi) instead of my black peep-toe flats (Dorothy Perkins). I absolutely love this blazer! It still has its shoulder pads intact so I rolled up the sleeves to balance it out, the black lining adds a nice touch. Bonus! Still toting my lovely brown bag :D

I'm trying my best to describe the outfits without boring you, so work with me here and use some imagination please (:

Been in retail mode ever since exams ended, which isn't awesome because I'm broke in debt (especially since a certain firm isn't paying). Fortunately, there are plenty of sales ongoing/coming up, what with the Great Singapore Sale and change of seasons.

Found several nice items at Nicholas at Marina Square. VERY NICE but sorry I ain't got no money, honey. Even Mother said their clothes were interesting and classy. Also, I found some affordable to cheap white shirts with nice detail at (SGD 29 for a long-sleeved collared shirt) at PoA. It was a little sheer though. Anyway, they didn't have my size and the L was way oversized! Might check the other outlet at Plaza Singapura but I highly doubt it. [Update: My friend has kindly checked for me and it's out of stock!] Dorothy Perkins has turned out to be my go-to place for workwear. Their pants (non-petites, ahah!) mostly suit me, especially the narrower cuts, and I don't have to alter the length. Perfect for low to mid heels and maybe flats. I was pretty tempted by the wide-legged pinstripe mid-rise pants I found, but at SGD 59 (non-sale) = out of budget, although they do come with a skinny patent belt. Mother quite likes DP too. Hehe.

Oh and John Little is having a sale, so I stocked up on new undies too (y) (tmi) AND I FOUND MILANI there. Haha ok so I'm a little slow on the uptake (Stardust at Plaza Singapura didn't really catch my eye although I've walked past it several times) but yeah, excited. I shall go purchase some Milani products to try if they're not too expensive. They've Lord & Berry too, along with a bazillion Japanese, Korean, US drugstore brands at John Little Marina Square.

My mantra this recession to help save money: Don't buy clothes if they're not perfect for you. Shopping in your closet works too. In my case, I'm shopping in Mom's wardrobe :D Got my (mother's) Bally's fixed, yay! SGD 12 for a spanking "new" pair of vintage shoes in good condition. Heehee. Isetan sale tomorrow!!!! CAN'T WAIT.

Went watch window-shopping yesterday and the verdict:
Omega = nice and relatively affordable but boring
Jaeger = nice and relatively affordable
Vacheron = nice and not affordable
Romain Jerome = cool but not affordable
....and several others that I can't really remember.

Also, TIGER AIRWAYS IS HAVING A SALE!!! Ends today, so hurry.

I'm really sorry friends, if I'm neglecting you, things have been mad. Today I have a little respite (fine, maybe quite alot) hence I'm updating (: you might notice that some posts are backdated. Actually they'd been drafted earlier, just not complete for posting.

Love,
xxx
