Wasabi Burst

Can't believe that stupid Ljubicic beat Roddick. On one hand, I'm glad because it sort of means Nadal didn't lose to a loser. On the other, I would've preferred Roddick to win. Nadal's loss--his shorts for 2010 never fail to remind me of waffles--yesterday was pretty much a shocker since he had the lead all the way up to 6-3 4-3, but proceeded to lose all the rest of the games in the second and then subsequently the third set tiebreak. Zzz. Oh well.

It's been raining everyday, pretty crazy. Bored out of my mind! Got to start cramming, I've Japanese exam really soon, too. As if school exams weren't bad enough on their own. I'm gonna fail ): and me being the horrible procrastinator I am, haven't drafted the stupid cover letter and my resume. I really need to kick my own butt and get moving. Deadline's looming.

Had Nirai Kanai for dinner yesterday. Very shiok. The 3 kinds of sashimi (maguro, sake and hamachi) were delicious albeit rather expensive. The slices were thick and fatty, and the accompanying--freshly-greated, according to Brother--wasabi was stealthily spicy (hits only on the second mouthful, don't be greedy). The rafutei soba--more like chinese handmade noodles of the thicker variety, than regular soba--and bittergourd were good, as usual. This time we tried kawaebi--river shrimp, which were basically miniature prawns--that tasted totally seafood-y. Fresh, meaty and crunchy shell, all ingested :D was great with a spritz of lemon and dipped in salt. After that we had Okinawan donuts and brown sugar crepes (came with whipped cream) totally to die for. Mmmm. The latter was totally sinful. Heehee. Totally entertained by the TV there too, as always. Hahaha.

I have been wanting to eat gyoza/guo tie/jiao zi/some variant of a "crisp outside, juicy inside" pan-fried dumpling, but have absolutely no idea where there are good ones. (Would be so good with a bowl of hot soupy soba...... Mmm.) I shall head out to grab dinner in a while. School food sucks. Hooray for pasta at Science tomorrow.
