Electric Six

Soooooo the pouring rain on Tuesday ruined my white Primark ballet flats I so loved. Goodbye, you have served thy purpose well. Threw them away once I got home ): hello Kenneth Coles? Will you be the one(s) to fill the gaping hole on my shoe shelf?

I don't know what possessed me to wear jeans that blazing morning, but I'm sure glad I did. It was raining cats and dogs when I headed to the TONI&GUY Academy. Blah. The hair guy didn't quite decide what to do with me. Again. I just hope he knows exactly what he wants to do with me instead of changing his mind halfway like the past 2 times. Arranged to catch Despicable Me between my hair thingy and Jap class (: and am glad I did, because it's so cute! Heehee. Minions + Agnes = Awww.

And because my hair thingum finished early, I managed to try some cosmetics before the movie. Checked out Bourjois and Ettusais, my 2 usual go-tos, and also Clinique just to try something different. Ettusais didn't have any matte lipsticks, so I drifted over to Bourjois to hunt down a matte red lippie. Found a nice shade but didn't really wanna splurge immediately, so I picked out a mini lipstick/phone accessory in a slightly different shade to try out the femme fatale look. (Ooh, because I was distracted and went to Google red lipstick... The new layout is lovely! :D yippee.) Anyway, was less worried because lipstick can be blended to get a colour that matches my skin.

I also popped by Clinique to see if there were any samples to be tried. Unfortunately, there weren't any. But the salesgirl was most helpful and helped pick out a product for my needs--blemished combination skin, matte/natural finish (versus brightening) foundation--Superfit liquid foundation in 66 True Beige, and the Anti-blemish concealer in 01. The former was quite pleasant and blended well with my skin. Didn't get to find out what coverage was like, but I was told it's medium to good.. Which is average for a liquid foundation, I suppose. Mmm. The latter gave me an allergic reaction, though. During Jap class, I discovered that the area had turned pink and developed several large lumps/bumps. Immediately cleaned it off and the swelling thankfully subsided overnight.

Still contemplating going cosmetic shopping tomorrow.. Am always reluctant to make purchases because I know I won't use them. Also, I prefer getting samples to come home and try first. Not just because I am a cheapo, ok! What woudl've happened if I'd bought the concealer on the spot? In the past I've also had reactions to Simple products, which are supposed to be allergy-tested too. So, you never know! And I don't count my skin as sensitive.

Wavehouse yesterday was perfect--the weather was simply amazing!!!!!!! I wanna go again on Wednesday so that I can surf/chill cheaply! Didn't get to yesterday because I couldn't find my swimsuit and you definitely can't surf in a bikini. Must invest in a surfshirt!

Can't believe it's officially the last week of hols in the coming week. Pfft. Then it's back to drowning under piles of reading, especially with my intensive module. I don't even have any Kent Ridge respite/food to cheer me up next semester ): will try to make up for everything in sem 2, but I think that might not work out also. Fighting with the urge to make the most of my legal education = LOSE. Languages can be studied outside, but law can't.

Shall leave you with this awesome song/video:

It's looping endlessly on my laptop. Heehee.

XOXO
