Stop Horsing Around

So today was.... Highly irritating, largely because of the fitting. I went there, with my dress that I surely knew to be too nice--"bring your nicest dress" (emphasis mine) pfffft--to wait 45 minutes in the sweltering heat (because the sun shines blazes when I don't intend to swim) for the girls who were late because of inefficient route planning. Ok to be fair, I arrived early because the bus skipped a lot of stops. 15 minutes after the agreed time, I commenced walking in because 1) I did not want to be late--I'd already planned 30 minutes allowance; 2) so that I could direct them--clueless people who were supposed to walk in together with me; and 3) it was really too hot--madly sweating through every pore on my body just sitting there.

So I made it in almost punctual (slightly early), only to realise that I'd forgotten to get a visitor pass from reception so I had to walk all the way back out. And then I walked back to the other end, to the make-up unit, to be told that we're going to wardrobe first. So I back-tracked to midway. There, they were cheapos and asked us to get our own dresses approved (pre-empted! lol) and my black H&M maxi dress got the green light. Then we hiked back to make-up to get our hair and make-up before we were to head back to wardrobe to get our pictures taken. Everything was fine and dandy at make-up. The make-up artist was pleasant and gentle and his handiwork was pretty good. Also, air-con helped to cool things off a little. Hair was not painful and quite quick. Some artistes popped by to get made up, too, although I didn't see who since I was at the end of the room. Hurhur. My friends only told me "so and so was next to you" and I was like "ok..." It's not like I watch local tv anyway, so I wouldn't know them. Hahaha.

So after all this shuttling back and forth with all my stuff, we head to wardrobe, get our pictures taken and everything, all done. Then, some guy points to me and asks to change my outfit. He said my dress was not fitting enough and insisted that I get something else to wear. So I head into wardrobe to try on a couple of dresses. The first was taupe and too big, so they settled for the second, which was also ill-fitting albeit much less obviously so. It's described as "bright pink with black lace" at the bottom, has wire and is really this awful magenta colour. Everyone else was in muted colours.. My friends were in white/cream. Anyhow, trying to be professional, I said that it was uncomfortable but they ignored me and seemed to like it, so I shut up.

Because of that--finding a suitable dress, taking pictures once more etc.--we ended late and had to miss ballet. [Let's take a little detour to talk about other irritants.] Had an early dinner at Iluma again. Ebisboshi instead of Tsubohachi, which I prefer, because it was closed and my friend insisted on eating "proper" food. Muh. Another bad experience with the tsukimi soba and curry don set (SGD 11.80++) which had absolutely no ingredients wtf. My noodles were undercooked and the curry was salty and the rice, hard. My friends had the lunch special (SGD 9.90++ from 12 to 5pm) ika teppanyaki. Food was slow to arrive this time, though my friends' sets were pretty ok, I guess. I wanted to have the pork chanko nabe lunch special but it was not available. Pissed me off! Thankfully, froyo made it all good again. Blueberry flavour at Marble Slab was delicious. I had not had it before. We paid SGD 8 for a pint, 20% student discount off the normal price of 10. Sampled the French Vanilla, which was just as good as I'd remembered. Popped by Berry Lite to sample their froyo, too. It was quite delicious, although a little expensive. The choco mint tasted like ice cream, just like Marble Slab whose blueberry is by far the most yogurty, and it's not very. Last stop before Jap was Koi which, goes without saying, had an insanely long queue... I honestly think it was an anomaly that last week that the queue was so short.

Back to the dress episode. Now that I'm home, the more I think about it, the more I think I ought to change it. It would be impossible to sit in it (for hair and make-up and on the bus there) because the boning for the bodice portion is disproportionately long. I contacted the assistant producer but have yet to hear a reply. Aye. I should also probably speak up more. I will talk yell really loudly on Friday so that I'll be heard, promise. I mean, if they had given proper instructions in the first place, then everybody would be happy. Bah.

Anyway, speaking of professionalism. I think it's lost on everyone. I did my homework--even finding out about the content of the show. Some girls didn't even know the title. Oh well. As long as I'm happy with myself. I don't think I could live it down like they do. Shoot on friday, hardest 60 bucks I ever earned. Pfft.

Another imaging session on Thursday, this time for the hairshow. The senior is really the cutest thing. Anyway, I think that'll be a much better experience (: looking forward.
