Kiss Kiss, Hug Hug

The complexion is deteriorating rapidly! I'm convening an emergency meeting with my face guy for Tuesday. In the meantime, it's all I can do not to mess it up by touching the ugly red bumps that have erupted.

The sale today was... a mess. But not as bad as anticipated, could've been far more crowded. People avoided Irregular Choice like the plague, which was good. It was still ridiculously priced though, and I found that I didn't really like it anyway. Wandered around aimlessly, prowled through the different sections, denied my attractions. That is, until I spied them lingering on the shelves forlornly.

The Clarks Originals, right sides of a black 5 and a dark brown 4 in suede, lost amidst the furious grabbing and cacophony of gaggles of old ladies swooping in on sales staff like vultures, I rescued them and the courtship began. The minute I first laid a hand on them, I knew it was going to be awesome. The leather was simply so irresistibly soft!

I circled around the floor, trying to ignore their allure. I moved on to a pair of beautiful, supportive wine leather Nine Wests, but it didn't work out in the end. It was fun while it lasted though. I eventually resorted to seeking my Mom's permission opinion. On her instructions, 'Buy... Dont waste brain cells over such things', I decided to go back and give them one last shot. I was convinced they were high maintenance but when I slipped on both sides of the brown 4s, I fell head over heels. The black was simply too severe; the rich brown was perfect against my legs (significantly tanner the rest of me).

Unfortunately, contrary to what Po the Kung Fu Panda says, there is a charge for awesomeness. The Clarks ran up a whopping (by my standards, probably pretty reasonable by normal standards) amount. However, I no longer need to hunt for masculine shoes or sneakers. Two birds with one stone. Yippee!

On a side note, the mission du jour—the irony is just killing me—was finding a great fragrance for the boyf. I must have smelt like a googol of fragrances and there was still a googolplex of scents I didn't even attempt to try. I really liked Kenneth Cole Black (edt) and Prada Amber (edp)! Prada even had a L'infusion Iris. Hehe. What did I end up getting? It's a secret if you're reading this!!!! Coincidentally the blind test resulted in a fragrance that was on promotion. Rakki!

Had a treat for dinner... ok so all my dinners are treats since I'm still a poor student living at home, but THE POINT IS I finally got to try Taste Paradise: "Chinese food with a difference" at Mosque Street. PRETTY DAMN DELISH! One might find the price a little steep but I think it's worth every penny. We had the Famous Five set dinner accompanied with Long Jing tea. The tea even came with a surprise complimentary appetiser of scallop! Exquisite. The food was cooked to perfection; I can't complain about the skill at all. The starters were good: peking duck, wasabi prawn and foie gras with butter pastry. The sharks' fin was mind blowing!!!!!! For the mains, the lamb chop was a good meaty portion. It was pink and moist, well-flavoured with herbs. Mother had the cod which was just cooked through and melted in your mouth. Next up was the carbs: XO Ramen that was back-of-the-throat spicy with sweet baby abalone. Last but not least was the dessert. Mango puree with pomelo and coconut ice cream. MMMM. We had a Classic Fried Rice to go—ingredients included fresh crab meat and fish roe—a little steep at about SGD 20, but apparently totally worth it according to my brother. A teeny weeny gripe on my part, I found the sauces to be a bit too much for my liking but I'm a purist unlike the rest of the world. Yup. All in all, about SGD 220 for 2 persons (the fried rice not included) which I felt was justified. Service was impeccable and the staff looked good too.

Anyway, Mothers' Day is coming and she hinted (oh my god the sky is falling!) that there was this bag which caught her eye. Haha. Going to take a look soon. Perhaps I'll try to get it for her, may sell off my Agnes B if it'll fetch a good price.

Overall, I had a good day. Great company, good food, what more could one ask for? It doesn't feel like a recession and I hope I won't have to. I have several gripes about an ungracious society but I shall hold my tongue.

Tata for now,
xoxox
