Picking up where I left off, I headed home to get dinner with Brother. We ended up heading east to the fake Hong Kong Cafe, as usual, to catch the World Cup matches. What a waste of time!
Got home really late, so the next morning I decided to choose sleep over food and slept in, skipping brunch at Cellar Door at Vivocity, but awoke to beautiful weather. Headed down to a friend's house where Brother and the rest were chilling with hopes of swimming and Lolita slung over my shoulder. I soon dismissed any thoughts of reading by the mosquito-infested poolside and stayed upstairs with everyone else--they couldn't play tennis because they were indecisive and the courts were unsurprisingly booked.
Headed back to Vivocity in the evening for A-Team, which was pretty good! Jessica Biel was pretty but 2D in the movie, and Brother was gushing over Bradley Cooper, who is, admittedly, rather hot. Hehe. Had dinner (pork chop with potatoes and a Bailey's irish cream souffle) at Bakerzin just to use up one of the many coupons--"20% off total bill"--which were expiring on the 30th. After the movie we headed to the fake Hong Kong Cafe again to catch Uruguay v. Korea, but not before grabbing a second dinner at some dumpling restaurant along East Coast Road (their menu totally tickled me). Was not too bad, I guess, if a little pricey. I love dumplings! The match was disappointing, of course. Bad refereeing, too little too late... the usual gripes. Hurhur. Of course, I do wish Korea had won (although I not-so-secretly think they look like a team of farmers). Asian support, yo. Was hoping to see some successful free-kicks--what Asians do best i.e. drilling ten-year series--but was denied despite two chances. Thankfully brother agreed to leave early so we left after that game.
Finally satisfied my Beauty World craving on Sunday. It was gloomy and began drizzling intermittently throughout lunch and most of the afternoon. Had mutton soup--I can never resist--instead of noodles, and guzzled the xiao long baos which were extra nice that day. Not a single dried up one. Hehe. Headed home for a snooze and to catch some sports on the telly. Wimbledon and F1 were pretty exciting. Really enjoying the grass season (: teehee.
Attempted to book Toy Story 3 but couldn't see anything beyond Wednesday in the online booking system. Quite annoyed and am beginning to panic as I suspect that they might stop screening after this week? I'd better catch it quick. No harm watching it sooner than later anyway. Hurrr.
So that was my weekend in brief.. Mostly eating and sitting around. Haha. Totally sedentary lifestyle. It's no wonder I'm ballooning.
